Sports Boulevard signs MoU with the Ministry of Communications and Infrastructure Technology to develop investment in the infrastructure and digital transformation

The Sports Boulevard Foundation (SBF) and the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) have signed today, Wednesday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to support and develop the digital infrastructure, communications, and modern technologies, through the development of digital operational mechanisms and programs, stimulating and encouraging investment, and supporting appropriate legislative and regulatory environment to accelerate digital transformation.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Darren Briant, Chief Utilities, Environment, and Sustainability Officer of the Sports Boulevard Foundation, and Eng. Bassam Albassam, Deputy Minister for Telecom and Infrastructure of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, in the presence of a number of officials from both sides.

Under the Memorandum, the two parties will enhance their cooperation in investment planning for digital infrastructure and communications technologies, stimulating and encouraging investment in digital infrastructure, preparing business models, and developing digital infrastructure. In addition, they will cooperate with service providers to get the communication and information technology services in the project.

The areas of cooperation also include developing digital solutions that contribute to the development of the beneficiary’s experience in Sports Boulevard through the Ministry’s programs, as well as identifying a list of challenges and targeted technical solutions to share them with entrepreneurs to develop appropriate solutions and activating the adoption of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) that contribute to accelerate digital transformation and address obstacles to transformation through exploratory projects. Furthermore, benefiting from the Future Skills Initiative and its specialized short courses and qualitative camps in the fields of modern technology.

This MoU comes within the continuous efforts of the Ministry and the Foundation to achieve the goals of the Kingdom’s Vision 2030, which aim to build a digital and vibrant community, a prosperous economy, and a better future for the Kingdom.
