The Sports Boulevard Foundation’s approach to publishing open data is guided by a set of core principles, including the following:
- Data Availability as a Public Asset: Public entity data is made available to everyone through publication or access, unless its nature requires protection, confidentiality, or privacy preservation. .
- Open Formats and Machine Readability: Data is provided in open technical formats that can be processed automatically, using widely adopted formats such as CSV, XLS, JSON, and XML.
- Regular Data Updates: The latest versions of open data sets are published periodically as soon as they become available.
- Comprehensiveness: The Foundation ensures that data sets are as complete as possible, containing detailed information while adhering to personal data protection policies.
- Non-Discrimination: Data is accessible to everyone without discrimination or the need for registration, and can be accessed at any time without identity verification
- Free Access: Open data is provided at no cost.
- Open Data Licensing: Open data in the Kingdom is subject to a licensing system that defines the legal framework for its use, including the terms, obligations, and restrictions governing its usage.
- Promoting Governance and Participation: Open data supports transparency and accountability, encourages community participation, aids decision-making, and improves service delivery.
- Development and Innovation: The Foundation encourages the reuse of open data and provides necessary support in collaboration with relevant entities to enable innovation and engage individuals and organizations in leveraging the potential of open data.
Providing open data aims to empower users to leverage it across multiple domains. It contributes to supporting scientific research, fostering business growth and startups, enhancing decision-making quality, and stimulating innovation through the development of applications and solutions that integrate data from diverse sources.
To reinforce transparency and enable effective use of data, the Foundation provides an E. Form for requesting open data. Applicants complete the form, which is then reviewed by the Data Management Office, and the necessary approvals are obtained.
